Don't spill your seeds to the ground

In the previous chapters we focused on women. This chapter deals with the other side, men; the subject is: sexual starvation.
If we examine the attitude of religion to sperm cells, we will find out that in Judaism the sperm liquid is considered sacred and it can be spilled only for keeping the commandment of insemination. According to the Catholic Church as well, sexual intercourse is considered a necessary evil being performed in the darkness. Masturbation was seen as very harmful to health in all the cultures that sanctified reproduction. The medical belief, that the sperm cells are limited in number resulted in a strict prohibition of male masturbation, which was defined as dangerous to society and wasteful for the body. This ancient argument is in complete contradiction with human biology: the man's testicles produce about fifteen thousand new sperm cells (spermatozoon) every minute, and they accumulate to about seventy million sperm cells in a whole day (24 hours). A similar medical belief has developed in the Far East, and survived until today, as part of the traditional Chinese medicine. The Chinese people believed that there is a life energy hidden in the human body. They called this energy: Chi. The post orgasmic fatigue, due to the influence of Endorphin, brought them to think that the Chi of the man passed in the semen into the body of the women he sleeps with. They concluded that the ejaculation is very harmful for the man's health and it extremely decreases his life expectancy. With time, this idea has lead to the creation of the Tantrism in the Far East. Tantra is a sexual technique that puts a heavy stress on the man's sexual continence ability, and is based on agonized attempts to avoid the dangerous sperm spilling. The miserable men learn all kind of techniques intended to allow them, after years of practice, to reach orgasm while saving the sacred sperm in their bodies.
In a study performed in Israel in 2002 by "Pfizer" pharmaceutical company, the manufacturer of Viagra, it was found that the average Israeli, in the ages forty and eighty years of age, is having sex once every five days. When calculating the yearly average of the Israeli man, it is about seventy intercourses per year. The Israeli data represent the human norm acceptable in the west, but it is essentially different than the sexual statistics of the African Bonobo apes (see page 34). The Bonobos have sexual intercourse very often, during most hours of the day. The difference between the Bonobos number of orgasms and the Israeli data excites envy. But maybe we can find some comfort in the length of their sexual act. The average time it lasts, from start to end, is thirteen seconds. This is very short and quite disappointing period of time compared with the long time standards of human sex.  Most people believe today in the sanctity of the divine moral rules. Despite this belief, the very need to have enforcement and punishment systems (for keeping the moral laws) indicates that the Bonobos' wild behavior is somewhat similar to our wild lifestyle in the distant past.
Is it possible that the huge gap between the wild sexuality of the Bonobos and the human sexuality that is acceptable today, is causes by an enduring cultural repression of the natural sexual appetite hidden in the body of human beings?
Our religious moral is based on a persistent struggle with the "beastly" impulses running wild in the body of the believer. It is against the natural drive – and this is the reason for the need of rules. It is interesting that the many brothels serving the Israeli men are called in our common and accurate slang: "Health Spas". Prostitution is illegal in Israel, that is, sexual services are forbidden in our economic system. This is a draconian prohibition, which also causes unfortunately to rape of women and children by man who are sexually crazed and hungry. Banning prostitution has resulted in the flourishing of a shady industry, smuggling many women into Israel, using their economical distress. The local sex industry is a billion U.S. dollars a year industry, and is based mostly on modern slavery. The victims of the Israeli sex industry are thousands of young women (brought into Israel in crooked ways) supplying sex services, and often are being forced to do so.
The importance of sexual intercourse is evident from two studies: in the first one, published in England (2000), the researchers found that men and women who had sex twice as much as the British average (once every three days) looked younger, ten years or more, than the average appearance of people their age. The second research was conducted in Australia (2003); a team of researchers led by Prof. Graham Giles found that the risk for having a very malignant type of prostate cancer significantly decreased (by thirty percent) for men who ejaculated daily (at least once every 24 hours). The surprising conclusions of the research were based on responses to anonymous questionnaire, dealing with the sexual habits of Australian men. 1
A hundred years ago, the female orgasm was considered a serious mental disorder that should be cured. In the 1950s doctors warned about the danger of having too much sex – not more than once a week. Until twenty years ago scholars believed that orgasm is a phenomenon unique to women, and does not exist in other females. But electrodes that measured similar contractions in the wombs of Macaque monkey females during intercourse refuted this assertion. Enjoying sex is an essential drive, signed into the DNA of life. Sexuality is our natural way to achieve eternal life. Our genes continue to survive and reproduce, for more than four million successive years now.
Sexual activity is a central activity in the lives of animals and plants, which have no moral, and live   with us. But it seems that the great fondness we have toward flowers picked in the field makes us forget the point. Flowers are a major component in the wild sexual competition that is acceptable in nature. The wave of bloom in the spring is a colorful orgy, in which two completely different species, plants and insects, participate.
Without going into the social question, it seems that the reason for sexual intercourse is the great pleasure caused by the release of endorphins. The orgasmic pleasure ensures sexual relations and the survival of the whole species.
In light of the importance of sexuality for our survival, and in light of recent research, we can assume that being sexually active on a daily basis, an activity that includes multiple orgasms and ejaculations is essential for the health of men.

The following chapters deal with the hidden and known influence of the cultural ideas on the development of babies and children.
